No, I would not recommend this to a friend
“Though others expressed reservation about the belt at the back, I tried it. I discovered that it's not so much the belt, but the bulk of the full-canvas back. When you gather the belt to snug the waist, all that sturdy canvas, rather than a satin back, bunches up in the small of your back. I suspect the XL I ordered is made to cover larger waists than mine, but still, it would take years of wear (no washing with leather trim) to break in that stiff canvas. Nice looking though.”
