Bought these for my 17 yo snowboarder and they didn't last 1 day (he is not particulaly rough on gear), problem is that the palm is quite thin and fragile and simply carrying his board to and from the slope cut through the material fairly extensively - in this case it clearly wasn't his fault. They did keep him warm and dry in moderately cold conditions (15-20 F). Would be great for winter camping or other activities that do not expose them to sharp or abrasive conditions and light weight is at a premium, just not snowboarding (or likely alpine skiing).

The "insulation" in these mittens is a joke. It is about one-quarter of an inch thick on the back, and less than that on the palm.

The worst part is, they are too narrow to wear with a thicker glove inside to make them warm enough. No good for skiing in any temperature below 25 degrees.

I can't believe other reviewers said these were warm. They must not have used them in any real cold. Warm mittens need to be THICK! Might as well use gloves instead of these mittens. These mittens will not keep you any warmer than gloves, and restrict your dexterity more.

I bought these to replace my worn out mittens for winter cycling. Since I bought them a bit early, I have not gotten to wear them yet.

I love these mittens. They are incredibly warm and windproof. The best feature is the gauntlet that covers your coat sleeve and cinches down. They seem to be very well made, and I expect them to last for many years.
