I used this jacked during a canoe trip in August when we experienced a downpour for several hours. Kept me bone dry and I didn't overheat. I also have a Patagonia Rain Shadow and don't think that I will use it again because even with pit zips, it left me overheated. I was torn between this and Polartec Neoshell. I think I made the right choice for the price I paid. Great lightweight feel. I will use it for cross country skiing and hiking as well. Couldn't be happier.

This is a great piece of outdoor gear! The shell is very versatile and will work as a rain jacket in the fall/spring even on cool summer evenings as well as a shell for cold winter skiing days if you layer properly. It's lightweight, a little stretchy fabric and breathable. It doesn't have pit zips, or two way zippers and have only the 3 external pockets (2 hand, 1 chest) all to make the jacket very light, it also packs very small inside the hood. I wish the hood was a little bigger since it won't go over my ski helmet very comfortably, but this is not something that will prevent me from giving a 5 star! This is a must have piece of gear for your outdoor endeavors. I highly recommend! I'm 5'5" / 150 and wear a medium with enough room to layer underneath and not too baggy to wear over a t-shirt. As a reference I wear small on Patagonia and Medium for Outdoor Research and Mountain Hardwear.
