I had gone hiking and it became post hole city in the snow so I ordered these when I got back. May not use them until this fall, but the zippers and Velcro combined with the boot attachment should be just the ticket.

Reviewed by HiHo from Oregon on Friday, March 29, 2013These gaitors are somewhat narrow through the calves, even though I only weigh 140 and am simply an athletic build though my legs. They work, but are much more snug than I would expect for a large size on my frame.

Only stepped in foot high puddles on my recent trip though, so didn't get to try them out the the full extent! They did do an excellent job though at keeping the dirt and debris off my legs and boots, and while wearing my rain gear, these kept me from getting snagged on thorny plants. These weight next to nothing and are a great addition to your hiking apparel!

Answer There is no guide that speaks for all gaiters. I'd contact Outdoor Research and ask for some advice. Before you do, measure your calf, the distance from the sole of your foot to the bend of your knee, and be prepared to tell them your boot size and your height/weight.|Good luck!
