Outdoor Research Ellipse Gore-Tex® Jacket - 3-in-1, Waterproof (For Women)

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She really likes the fit and style. The Gore-Tex shell and insulating liner should keep her dry and warm at college during the Northern Indiana winters.

This jacket is great. I got the pink/purple color and it looks quite stunning. I've been wearing it out around town in 20-degree weather and it seems perfectly warm. If it got colder than 20's I'd want to make sure that I had a good wool sweater on under the jacket unless I was more active. I could also trade the liner for something of a heavier weight if I needed. So the shell-liner combination seems quite versatile. I'm 5'10" and got the medium so the sleeves are not as long as I'd like--especially the sleeves of the liner. I imagine that they're perfect on a shorter woman. I have more of an hourglass figure and so the jacket is tight on my hips (but not too tight) and bulky at the waist but perfect across the chest.

Color is warmer than depicted. More purple and violet than pink. Constructed well and appears very durable.

I hike with my dogs frequently and needed a jacket that adapts to all types of weather. The outer shell can be worn alone or with the lining, which makes it versatile. I often wear the lining alone as well. The outside pockets are generous, and the inside mp3 pocket is handy. This product is well constructed, and the zippers and seams are complex, but are high quality. The color combination is very stylish. Overall, this is a high quality outdoor tri-climate jacket.

Bought 3 ski jackets from STP hoping one would work. This is a great coat at a great price, but only the XS was available. I'm on the small size (5'2'' 110 lbs) so took a chance on it. I wanted it to work because it has such great features: gore-tex, snow skirt, pit zips, and decent looking zip out liner. The XS almost worked. It is pretty square shaped, so looked a little boxy with the liner in - fine without. It just fit around my hips, so I could imagine it working when active. Had to send back, but would definitely recomend to someone smaller.
