Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

These will be my new go-to summer shorts, not just for hiking but for casual wear and around town biking as well. They are a midweight nylon fabric, so they don't look too single-purpose, but they also are extremely functional for outdoor activities. Adjustable built-in belt, four zippered slash pockets (including the rear pockets, which are a bit different), and a great athletic fit - an inch or two above the knee, which is perfect for being active. No, they aren't the knee-length shorts a lot of people think are stylish these days, but hiking in shorts like that is uncomfortable! Great product at a great price. 5 stars!
