After searching for just the right running gloves, I was happy to receive these and call it, "mission accomplished". These gloves are indeed windproof, water resistant, and slick (much less bulky than many other gloves with equivalent warmth offerings). Also, they easily bunch up to fit in your winter coat pockets. At first I thought they wouldn't be sufficient for runs out in 20-30 degree F conditions, but it just takes a moment for the warmth of your hand to fill the mitten in order to provide warmth that will keep you outdoors for a while! I would recommend these gloves to any one interested in running, playing outdoors, or just walking around in the winter wonderland for extended periods of time.

I bought these for my daughter who must walk a long distance as part of her daily commute and has problems with circulation in her hands in cold weather. She is thrilled with them. They really keep her hands warm and comfortable even though they are surprisingly thin and don't look like boxing gloves.

I expected a warmer mitten since it was advertised as a stand alone mitten. They can stand alone but for colder temperatures and windy days, one needs to use these as liners with something else to stay really warm.

I have not had the opportunity to use these mitts yet. However, I am concerned about the thinness of the materials and whether this mitt will be windproof. This was described as a standalone handwear for the bitter cold. I am planning on using these for 30-40 degree downhill ski days. These will probably be fine for more active endeavors (x-ski, running). Not sure about downhill skiing.
