5.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New York on Monday, August 3, 2015Love the jacket, the zips down the side are great. I opted for the large and I generally wear a size 40 suit with a 34 waist.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Outdoor Research Furio JacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Minnesota on Thursday, March 19, 2015It's simply a great jacket. Too bad it's discontinued. Outer material is relatively soft, but still tough. It's a dual purpose rain jacket/shell, so its use is nearly limitless. Pockets are all too small to be really useful, but other than that I have no complaints. Plus, it's an Outdoor Research, which has the best warranty going. I'm 6'0" tall, 200 lbs, and the XL fit me well. A bit loose, room enough to layer.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Doesn't BreathReviewed by Anonymous from Massachusetts on Friday, February 13, 2015I've owned this jacket for a year now and have tested it in the harshest New England conditions, through several blizzards and sub- zero temperatures. Snug up this jacket using the numerous drawcords and you're ready to go. I use it primarily for hiking and it's tough enough to handle bush-whacking without a mark. I typically wear it over three layers of clothing, a poly base layer, a fleece shirt and a fleece hoodie. Not only does it look great, I'm certain it will take anything mother nature throws at it including frigid temperatures, wind, snow and rain. The only problem I've had with this jacket is that it doesn't breath. I usually find significant amounts of condensation on the inside lining after an outing. This makes wearing this jacket like wearing a plastic raincoat. I haven't tried to use the pit zips yet to control moisture but sweat is a significant problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great ShellVerified Buyer Reviewed by Electralake from Colorado on Tuesday, February 10, 2015Waterproof and light weight. Perfect for keeping a down coat dry. There is a tie back for the hood.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Fantastic shellVerified Buyer Reviewed by Morghan from Seattle on Monday, February 9, 2015I am very pleased with the OR Furio Jacket. The combination of Gore-Tex fabrics, fit and finish of the construction, and feature set make for a very high quality shell. The fit of the jacket has adequate room across the shoulders and chest for layering without introducing unnecessary bulk or excess fabric. Extending the "pit-zips" all the way down to the hem is a nice innovation. The sleeves are nice a long so the cuffs don't ride up no matter what direction you reach.
My only complaints are that the pockets are quite small and the hood is quite large. To put the pocket size into perspective, my iPhone 6 just barely fits in the chest pockets. I have to twist and rotate it to get it in and out. The hood is cut to fit over a helmet, but it is so big that it is hard to adjust the draw cords enough to keep it on my head in the wind without a helmet. Helmet compatible hoods are a mainstay feature of technical shells, however, I have never needed to wear my hood over my climbing or snowboard helmet, but I often wear it in the rain without a helmet. For me, it is a feature without a need.
I would definitely recommend this shell to anyone in the market for a jacket that is as home in the back-country as it is in town. Light, comfortable, flexible, and rugged for climbing and riding, while looking good as a city rain jacket. -

5.0 out of 5 stars. technical shellVerified Buyer Reviewed by UTWidspred from TN on Monday, December 8, 2014So I'm 6'4" and I typically wear an XL... at first the Furio (XL) looked like it would swallow all 220 lbs of me... once I tried it on and adjusted the cuffs and waist, it looks like a million bucks. I've only wore it when the temps were in the 30-40s and was very comfortable with street clothes on underneath, but I intend to wear it as a ski jacket, too. There is enough room for 1-2 layers for the top of the mountain. I can't wait...

3.0 out of 5 stars. Pretty Good JacketReviewed by Anonymous from Tokyo, Japan on Thursday, September 18, 2014I just received my 2XL Outdoor Research Furio Jacket, however, it was way too small in the chest and waist area, so I had to return it.
I'm 6'2 and weigh 230lbs, but there is no way I could wear my down vest under this jacket. The sleeves were also a little too long, but not a major problem.
The workmanship, stitching, design, color, pockets and all other details of this jacket were all excellent.
I would have preferred to have a flap over the front zipper, but that's just a personal preference.
If you're tall and thin, the 2XL of this jacket would be a better fit than the XL; This particular jacket is a size off, so order one size up from your normal size.
Again, it would be a fantastic jacket if the sizing was correct. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice jacket with a few shortcomingsVerified Buyer Reviewed by kzoostout from Michigan on Friday, May 23, 2014I've only had this jacket for a week, so take my review with a grain of salt.
Pros: Seems durable. Well made. Fits me pretty well (I'm 6'3", 175 pounds, 42L suit size, and I had to return the large for a medium). Has a lot of nice little touches like a little hole in the interior chest pocket for headphone cords, quality zipper pulls, cord guides, etc.
Cons: Smallish pockets and pocket zippers have nothing but the mesh pocket lining beneath it (makes me wonder if the zippers may leak down the road). Gore-Tex is pretty stiff (see durable above) and puckery on seams. I'd prefer traditional pitzips rather than the full length zipper. The overall shape of the jacket is slightly A shaped, that is the waist seems a little bigger than the shoulders/chest. Since I'm pretty skinny, I'd prefer it to be slightly "V" shaped.
I got an additional discount for this off Twitter, so it was a pretty good deal. Overall, I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. I anticipate this coat lasting me many years to come. -
