    I used this jacket on a recent research trip to Alaska - while out on the water (raining, 33 deg), it performed flawlessly. The newer generation PacLite is not clammy, and it remained waterproof throughout. Yet, the reinforcements and beefy outer provide increased durability relative to other more fragile PacLite Jackets. The craftsmenship is excellent, and the hood fits great. The only down side is the front and full length side-zips ride up ~1cm during active use. Nonetheless, it packs down small, is lightweight, and offers great protection. Also performed well in high and dry climates (like SW Colorado) while backcountry skiing.

    I bought this for my 11-year old son to wear in our northeast Florida fall/winter season. I got him the small, which was right on target for his 5' 95 lb frame. The sleeves were a little long, but have velcro to cinch them in. Plenty of pockets, pit zips, great hood. This coat is exactly what I was looking for and at a fabulous price for Gore-Tex!
