Comfortable, strap helps hat stay on in windy conditions. Kept head dry during mist on fishing trip. Very good product and easily cleaned.

Brim seemed to have some plastic in the edge; wasn't all foam like OR Raindance Sombrero (which I love); we didn't think it would pack as well on backpack trips, so we returned it.

I had been wearing my husband's OR hat and LOVED it. I saw this one on STP and ordered it. It is wonderful - waterproof, fashionable, fits well (I ordered small) and designed for a woman. I highly recommend this hat and thank STP for offering the hat at an affordable price.

I love the way it snaps up (magnetically) into a "cowboy" hat. I'm going to wear the heck out of this!

I wear a large and ordered the same size for this hat. It fits perfectly and adjusts nicely.
    Super comfortable to wear.
    Rain proof.
Adjust each side up (to look like a pseudo cowboy hat) if you don't want the side rims down.
    Superb construction.
    Looks good

I didn't test it so I'm not certain it's waterproof (only reason I deducted a star). I must have been out of my mind when I ordered it. I was really looking for a sun hat and this is much too thick, too heat retaining for that purpose. It's well made and I suspect it would be perfect for it's intended purpose.

  • Question “Is this hat breathable? Will it get too hot when hiking in the sun?”
Asked on 7/22/2014 8:14:30 PM by des from Blue Ridge Mts
    • Answer Yes, this is breathable. According to the product overview above:
      - Ventia Dry waterproof breathable construction
      - TransAction moisture-wicking, quick-drying and breathable headband material
      - Mesh-lined crown for enhanced breathability

    • Answer The hat is waterproof and designed for wet weather and probably not the best for hiking in the sun. I don't recall the UPF rating for the hat, but I would guess that it provides reasonably good protection from the sun. I am less certain that it would provide enough ventilation to be comfortable on a hot day. I can honestly say that this is a great hat when you are out in the rain. I hope that this information is helpful.

    • Answer Truthfully, I'm not sure. I live in the Bay Area so it gets over 85 degrees about three days a year.

I bought it for the waterproof-ness, which again, is great if it isn't too windy. Unfortunately, it's super windy where I live too.

      Not super helpful. Sorry :)
