Outdoor Research Insight Jacket - Soft Shell (For Women)

What caught my eye initially was the slate blue color, which is one of my favorites. I love coats and jackets, and this will be great in the fall and spring. We?re currently going through on-and-off heatwaves in the Bay Area, so I haven?t worn it yet. I have long arms, so I?m always happy to find a garment with long enough arms, but these are way too long! I plan on just folding them under and maybe tacking them. I?m very happy with this purchase.

I usually wear a 10 in everything, but I ordered a 12 to fit over long sleeve shirts since several comments said it ran small. It is very form fitting over another shirt in the bust and hips. The sleeves are long. I love the color, weight and style because it looks nice with trousers for a lunch out, as well as jeans or other casual clothes. I am not recommending it because the size is too iffy for most.

The extra large fit like a medium. Otherwise a nice jacket.

Runs small

This is a good fall coat. I was looking for something that wasn't too heavy but blocked the wind well. This jacket does that. I am a small women - 5'3" and got a medium because of the stated trim fit. I wanted to be able to wear a sweater under it if I wanted. The medium allows that only the sleeves are about 3" too long, but I just fold them under. Overall a good coat for the fall.
