Nice jacket - runs 1 size too small ( I knew that before ordering - Thanks to the reviews on another site)

It is a nice jacket at a reasonable price. Mine is burgundy colored. I am 5' 6" and 158# and the XL is the right fit while being slightly roomy. Very comfy. Reviewed by Casual dresser from California on Friday, November 14, 2014The design is great, raglan sleeves, fit, the fabric feels lovely. BUT, I have worn this gently for about 2-3 weeks only, just to and from work, at home a little - indoors I take it off as it's too warm, and wherever the sleeves touch the sides, probably where your elbows rub naturally, it has pilled badly. I see another reviewer referred to this as "it rolls badly". I have not even washed it yet. It was such a good deal. I will probably return it, sadly, unless I decide this doesn't bug me. I stopped wearing it when I noticed this....feel sad to let it go.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Molly the Traveler from Durham, NC on Thursday, October 16, 2014I bought this jacket right before a fall trip to Chicago, thinking it would keep me nice and warm in those windy fall days and nights. I noticed that wind could very easily penetrate the soft fleece interior and I had to wear a long sleeve shirt in order to prevent my arms from freezing through the jacket. I love the fit and the color (I got the burgundy one), but the pockets are a bit too small as well. I can barely fit my hand in completely and it just barely will zip over an iPhone 4. Overall, I like the jacket, but its just not as warm as I thought it would be.
Reviewed by Grad Student on a Budget from Cambridge, UK on Sunday, September 14, 2014Unlike other fleeces, this jacket resembles a sweater on the outside (although the interior is still fleecy), so it looks somewhat dressier than a fleece jacket usually does. I loved the fabric, and found it somewhat heavier, warmer, and more substantial than the other Outdoor Research fleeces I tried on from STP. The fit was similar to the other OR fleeces I tried on, especially the OR Radiant Hybrid Fleece Jacket. I ordered a Small and a Medium, and while the Small was far too small in the bust, the Medium fit generally well, following my curves, except for some extra room at the waist and in the upper arms (which gave a slight batwing/kimono effect on me, but it wasn't too noticeable or problematic). The flexibility of raglan sleeves meant an excellent fit through the shoulder. The grey jacket was marled and looked a lot like a sweatshirt in terms of color. I would have loved some brighter or more saturated colors (maybe some jewel-tones like purple, deep teal, deep green), but the grey was fine. I have a couple of concerns that may prevent me from keeping the jacket. The first is that a jacket in this price range really should have a two-way zip, so one can sit down easily without the jacket bulging, and to prevent overheating during exercise. The other is that I have worries that the sweater fabric on the exterior may pill and roll - it looks somewhat delicate. But for those willing to take a chance, this fleece should fit hourglass shapes nicely. Given the Medium fit me best, I'd say the sizing may run slightly small generally, but seems consistent with Outdoor Research sizing of their other jackets.
