These pants have a weird fit, I ordered two sizes Medium and Small, I'm 5'5" / 150 lbs and a 32 waist/30 inseam on street pants. The small fits me good in the waist even under a fleece pants and with a top polartec tucked inside but they are extremely tight in the legs, not something I would be confortable skiing with even with no baselayer or fleece pants underneath. The medium is good in the legs but it just becomes huge in the waist out of the blue, looks like the size chart is a little weird, the small is supposed to be 29" top in the waist, I'm 32" and was comfortable with fleece pants underneath, it was snug, but not tight. The design is great, full zips, removable gaiter, goretex pro shell 40D/70D and two small bibs pockets + two hand pockets. The other thing that worries me is that both of the pants came with a broken waist button, maybe I was unlucky since I'm a heavy user of OR research products and they make top quality products, I'm sure I could replace for a good one if the fit was good, but I will have to return it. As a reference I wear a medium/regular MH Bokta pants and it fits me perfect, wish MH still have those available, also a small Patagonia powslayer bibs and even with a more relaxed fit is't kinda baggy but a more regular and even bagginess if that makes any sense :-) Maybe if you are taller than me the medium could fit you very well!

About Outdoor Research

The concept for Outdoor Research was devised in 1981 when climber Ron Gregg’s planned ascent of Denali was cut short, ending prematurely with his frostbitten partner being airlifted off a glacier. The cause was a faulty pair of gaiters. During his descent, Gregg resolved himself to create better gear, a resolution that soon led him to build the first pair of award-winning Outdoor Research gaiters. The concept was simple: Make outdoor apparel and gear with a clear focus on reliability. In the many years since, this brand has continued to blaze new trails with cutting-edge products that now include Outdoor Research gloves, jackets, backpacks and Outdoor Research hats, all engineered to exceed expectations in the most demanding conditions on the planet.
