This jacked performed so well, I bought another one 2 1/2 years later when it finally started to wear at the seams. It stood up to Seattle's constant drizzle while I commuted by bike. Even though it is waterproof, it still breathes and prevented me from overheating/becoming a sweaty mess.

I ended up returning this jacket - it just didn't fit right. The shoulders are broad and have extra fabric, the chest is big, and the hips are narrow. Not a fit for a woman's body. I did see other reviewers say the same thing but wanted to try it out, and they were right. Construction is good, color is beautiful, and the jacket was warm. If it wasn't so oddly proportioned I would have kept it.

I ordered this jacket because of the reviews that the arms were shorter than on most soft shell jackets (I'm 5'3" and most soft shells have sleeves that are *way* too long on me). I ordered a size L (I'm 5'3" and 165lb, pear shaped) and although the sleeve length was good the rest of the jacket was much, much too large on me. I understand they design them to be able to layer quite a bit underneath, but it was so big I had to send it back. And my husband didn't like the look of the contrast seam taping.

I got this jacket as an all-around shell for everyday stuff and also for climbing and winter sports. I have worn it in a few rain storms and it repels water very well. It is stretchy and long enough so it doesn't ride up under my harness while climbing. The arms are quite broad, but that will come in handy when I want to add some layers under it. OR makes quality products, and I am glad I bought this one. STP has great prices, especially when you add a coupon.

This jacket blocks the wind as well as my $500 hard shell, yet it is more flexible and is my go to ski jacket. I bought it for warmer days and it is so comfortable, I wear it all the time. Today it was zero at the top of the mountain with a stiff breeze and with a down midlayer I was perfectly comfortable. Check the size dimensions carefully if you will layer over bulky fleece or down.

The pink is bright and I have received complements.

Before I reviewed this jacket, I wanted to try it out in various conditions, temps, and moods, to make a good assessment. I have been using and will use this jacket in the Winter as an outer shell for snowshoeing, so I am basing my review on that activity.

If you ask my husband, he will tell you that I have a few too many jackets. He will also tell you that this is my pride and joy. I talk about it all the time. It is tough to find a jacket that works in all (cool to cold) conditions, and this does it all. It is windproof, waterproof and breathable and is of excellent quality and durability. I guess I am a pretty good salesperson, because he ordered the men's version for himself.

I have used this jacket when it's been anywhere from -15 degrees (F) to 30 degrees. Typically, if I'm working, I can easily get by with one or two thin base layers underneath, even if the wind is blowing 20 mph. If needed, I wear a fleece, vest, or lightweight jacket underneath as a mid layer and it is a comfortable fit.

The thing that stands out to me the most with this jacket is the windproof quality and the hood. It makes it possible to have a life outside during the Winter months. Wind does not penetrate this jacket. It just doesn't. We have had crazy wind this Winter with crazy low wind chill temps and it doesn't even phase this jacket. The hood stays put where I want it, even with long hair, a hat, Buff, goggles, and earbuds tangled around my head.

Other features I find awesome:  taped zippers and seams, elastic/Velcro cuffs, bottom hem drawstrings, and drawstrings around the hood. The zippers stay where you want them and the pulls are easy to grip with gloves or mittens. The inside zipper pocket is super handy.
