Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by summer hiker from New York on Tuesday, March 24, 2015I ordered the flame, which is a bright, almost pinky orange, much brighter than the screen shot. It's pretty and trendy, but definitely bright. (good for running/skiing) This is a roomy jacket. I'm about 5'5", 130lbs, fairly athletic with broad shoulders and a narrower waist. I ordered a medium for layering a down jacket or fleece underneath, and there is plenty of room in the shoulders and arms are long enough to keep my wrists covered even at maximum extension of my arms. The waist feels a bit baggy when I'm not wearing a layer underneath. I think the small might have been big enough for me, but I didn't exchange it. I like the hood, which gives great coverage and yet the visor can be flipped back if you don't want it shielding your eyes. Although it is called mithrilite, it is not a light soft shell, but it substantial.
Reviewed by EES from New England on Friday, January 23, 2015I bought this a few months ago with a trek planned in northern VT.
I'm 5'8", about 175 lbs. My arms are long, so I always have to buy a large for anything with long sleeves. I got this in orange and large. I wanted a bright color for visibility and this worked. I was able to add a fleece and puffy down coat at summit without issue, and the combo was warm enough in double digit negatives.
I gave it 4 stars for breathability. It doesn't breathe as well as I'd like- the arms and torso have been a bit damp after aggressive training hikes. I got a bit of frost in those areas on the VT trek, but the cold may have been outpacing the wicking there...
I like it- I run hot, and it's light enough to wear with a base layer for hiking, and holds heat well when layered. If you're always cold when you hike, you will want layers and/or something heavier.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Oregon on Wednesday, June 4, 2014I'm 5'5" and 115lbs, usually a S or XS. I went with the S so I could layer with a light-weight down or fleece. This jacket is a great fit and true to size. I'd buy again!
