Outdoor Research Nimbus Sombrero Hat - Waterproof (For Men and Women)

Nice hat for a rainy day. It does not seem to breathe well, so could only use this on colder rainy days. Not as a sun hat.

Hat is light weight, has a breathable inner mesh lining and a brim big enough to block sun's rays. It fits a little big, but that is good because the crown has an adjustable drawstring for custom fit, leaving some airspace. I like the customizable features: adjustable chin strap, adjustable crown, sides that can snap up and the brim has a wire or something along the outer edge that allows it to be gently shaped. I plan to use this while fly fishing. Appears to be quality made. Only gave four stars because I have not yet had a chance to evaluate use in the field.

I use it for hiking and it's perfect for me.

i purchased this hat for a trip to ireland in may.i've tried it out in georgia during the wet winter we've had and have been very happy with it.

The hat is everything I hoped it would be. Kept glasses, ears and neck dry.

I wear this hat when I paint outside, and will definately take it to paint the Mission in Tubac Arizona. the lightweight quality is great for traveling. i love the sulfur color, The fit is great, I have to wear a men's hat in Xl, so this worked out great!

I got this hat for commuting -- working up a good array of things that will allow me to get to work without a car. The pleasingly broad brim keeps rain off my hair and face. The bright color is a plus for visibility (I'd be more likely to wear this in an earthier color if using it for outdoor recreation). It does exactly what I need!
