“It is a light weight hat, and relatively windproof. It takes little space in the backpack. There is sufficient warmth if you are active such as on a back country walk or on snowshoes/backcountry skis. It is usefulo also when you make camp (or break camp in the AM). It is probably not warm enough for sitting out on a frozen lake in the wind ice fishing.”
