Outdoor Research Perfecta Shell Jacket (For Women)

This is a nice lightweight jacket. It runs a bit short, but was a good deal.

It doesn't fit right - too small. This is going back.

Thought it might be good for cold weather running but too heavy.

The fit is about as perfect as it gets for me, which NEVER happens. I plan on cycling in this jacket as I train for my triathlon this summer, so it needs to work hard, and I wish it had a little longer length to keep drafts off my rear and lower back while on the bike, but the material is soft, light, and well-made. I'll add updates on its performance.

I would usually wear a petite small (I'm 5'2"), but ordered a medium which fits well. This jacket is roomy enough over a sweatshirt and looks sharp.

The trunk length was far too short. The hem sat just below my waist and wind swept up it when I was running. I have found this to be a somewhat consistent problem with items from OR. Everything else about the jacket was nice and exactly what I wanted.

Use for doing chores, windproof & does not attract animal hair.

I wanted to replace my Marmot Driclimb and this was a pretty affordable alternative. It is a bit heavier thanks to a more durable fabric that runs over the shoulders and down the arms, which is exactly where my current driclimb has patches. The neck collar and waist have a tighter fit, which I like to keep the wind out. There are three zipper pockets which are the main source of weight on the jacket. It is well made and stylish, and the medium fits me perfectly (second or third layer) with a 39-29-39 size 8 or 10 and a long torso. I'll use this for ice and rock climbing, x-country and backcountry skiing.
