I exchanged it for a large which was perfect. The hat is extremely lightweight and breathable. Its just deep enough. And although lightweight it holds it shape and appearance. The military-inspired flat-top design gives it a more serious look than just a flop hat. My bald head has not felt overheated even in 90 plus degree weather. A machine wash and air dry didn't diminish the quality.

It is great to take for travel and can comfortably worn by men or women. My husband remarked that it has a European look...different from the usual baseball hats that he wears. It appears to be easy to wash and quick to dry. I bought three - one in each blue and the burnt orange. We plan on taking them with us when we travel. I like that they do not have an obvious logo. FYI .. there is no hole in the back for women who want to pull their ponytails through.

I have a fairly large head (around) but have had difficulty finding hats to fit right because they are typically too tall. I ordered medium (because previous reviews stated that the sizing ran large) and they fit great! The back of the hat is fairly low and so either wearing my hair down or in pigtails/braids has worked the best. I've gotten compliments on how "cute" I look when wearing it (so that's a good sign!) I would highly recommend this great hat!
