Fends off bugs. Pretty good ventilation, good fit s/m, brim just wide enough for sun protection for face and neck. Somewhat shapable brim, so you can pick your style.

nice hat, and I like the insect repellent functionality. For me it was too tight though. I have a medium size head, but the Large was too small.

my husband finally agreed that a brimmed hat could be a good thing for a summer on the water and in the woods. this one seems to be working well-- vents are a real plus, and the fabric is not too heavy/thick overall. color is nice, chin strap will keep it attached but isn't "too dorky." it could be a bit snug, but he's hoping that it will stretch out just a bit with contnued wear.

I like how it has holes so my head breathes. I also like the color. The adjustable chin cinch strap and head straps held my hat on while I was looking into a river gorge with wind. I'm 10 and I got a medium which I can grow into. Thank you Dad!

LOVE THIS HAT! It's soft and crushable, nicely ventilated, strap keeps it with you, and the brim keeps sun off without being too wide.

I look forward to wearing it on my African safari this summer :)

I have only worn this hat on one hike, but found it to be light weight and breathable. I plan to wear it on a hike in Tennessee this summer which should put the insect repelling aspects to the test. The fit is good, and can be adjusted down with a pull string.
