I bought this for an upcoming trip to Costa Rica. I have other insect-repellant clothing that I love, as I don't like putting chemicals on my body. My old shirts have a men's shirt cut and the fabrics are heavier. I'm looking forward to staying cooler with this new shirt, and will appreciate looking... Read More

I have a 34" bust and ordered a medium. It was so tight that it gapped at the chest when buttoned and barely fit across my shoulders. I can't comment on the insect repellent qualities because I returned it. No larger size was available. Also, the body length and sleeves were almost too short - and I am petite and generally find shirts to be too long. I think this "medium" will fit a very small person who usually wears a size 0-2. Or perhaps a medium sized child. But not an American woman who usually wears a medium.

The green color is a really nice color. Fit is nice. Zippered pockets are great. Packs well without wrinkling. Keeps the bugs away.

I am usually a medium in almost any womens clothing but this shirt's "medium" seemed to be more like an extra small. It buttoned fine over the waist but lacked several inches to close properly over the chest. Definitely not cut for a more "womanly" figure.

Listened to the other comments telling me to size up - BAD idea! I got a medium and it is about 2 sizes too big. I am a 34 C top, 28 inch waist. It was HUGE all over. Top, middle, sleeves....maybe an XS would have fit.

The color was not flattering or attractive. Neither was a fit. It does seem like something for someone in their 40s-60s...not a woman in her 20s. Very "matronly".

Did not get to check out how it works with bugs because it is going straight back.

This shirt was a gift for my mother who uses it primarily for outside yard work. She is allergic to mosquitoes and biting midges in coastal SC so this is a great all season shirt with convertible features for very hot weather and cooler weather. It works for arthritic hands with the snaps - and the high collar, convertible sleeves and vented back provide all season wear. She can use it in very hot weather or as a light jacket over a t-shirt.

About Outdoor Research

The concept for Outdoor Research was devised in 1981 when climber Ron Gregg’s planned ascent of Denali was cut short, ending prematurely with his frostbitten partner being airlifted off a glacier. The cause was a faulty pair of gaiters. During his descent, Gregg resolved himself to create better gear, a resolution that soon led him to build the first pair of award-winning Outdoor Research gaiters. The concept was simple: Make outdoor apparel and gear with a clear focus on reliability. In the many years since, this brand has continued to blaze new trails with cutting-edge products that now include Outdoor Research gloves, jackets, backpacks and Outdoor Research hats, all engineered to exceed expectations in the most demanding conditions on the planet.
