Outdoor Research Solitude Jacket - Soft Shell (For Women)

Living in South Lake Tahoe is a constant challenge to find the right clothing for the ever changing weather. This is a great jacket alone or with layers. Use it for my motorcycle, bright lava color is easy to see.

Outdoor Research products are fantastically well made and this jacket is no exception. Thanks OR for recognizing that XL is not a size 10. Tall strapping women like to get out there and get up those mountains too!! I"ve worn this jacket snowshoeing and hiking in the mountains this winter and fall and this jacket has performed spectacularly. It's breathable during exertion and dries quickly. It's windproof. Great zippers/pockets! And stylish too! I just bought a second one, I love it so much! You will not be disappointed! It's perfect in every way

Bought this jacket to replace one I lost in New Zealand. Could not be happier with the color (lava) and fit! Love the lean cut of the jacket- will look great with ski pants, jeans, or for hiking.

Very nice jacket. bright color, warm, slim fit. the area under armpit is slightly wide, but all in all. well made, good for normal cold weather.

Oh, I really wanted this jacket to fit! It's a perfect weight, nice length, totally windproof, and would have been a great top layer for road biking...but...the XL is about a size 14, and I'm an 18. Very, very snug. Would not be able to layer under it, so back it goes. Even the orange was a nice color tone...I'm so sad.

This jacket is fantastic! I usually have a hard time finding a jacket that fits my tall torso but this jacket is a perfect fit. It's not too heavy and it's super comfortable. I'm always outside in various weather conditions so it's a huge plus that this jacket repels water and dries quickly. I highly recommend this jacket, it's the best piece of clothing I've ever owned.

I bought this for cycling over layers for mid-cold weather in the 40s. This past week I wore it in 45 degree windy weather over three light layers and was never cold. It was perfect. It's lightweight, great looking and can be worn anytime without looking like a bike rat. It's stretchy, the sleeves are nice and long to keep your wrists warm, and the collar protects your neck very nicely. It's a great jacket and you will be very happy. I had to order a size up because my normal size was too tight in the hips, but that's ok because it fits over all the layers comfortably.

Bought this jacket for my mother-in-law for Christmas 2 years ago and she has said that it's her favorite piece in her wardrobe. She absolutely loved it. I borrowed it one day when visiting and decided that I had to have one for myself. Perfect for chilly fall days or to throw on over a sweater. Lightweight, comfy and stylish.
