“Lightweight, windproof, pretty”

“This is a great lightweight softshell for running errands, hiking, and backpacking. I wore it over a thin hiking t-shirt for a 13-miler yesterday and it kept me warm even with fierce winds off the ocean and two hours of night hiking on the way out. It seems truly high quality, with sealed zippers and an attractive cut -- just what I expect from Outdoor Research. It is truly lightweight, though, and it would probably be only marginally warm enough for something like spring skiing. However, it's perfect for hiking/backpacking in reasonably temperate climates.”
