Outdoor Research Solitude Jacket - Soft Shell (For Women)

This is a great lightweight softshell for running errands, hiking, and backpacking. I wore it over a thin hiking t-shirt for a 13-miler yesterday and it kept me warm even with fierce winds off the ocean and two hours of night hiking on the way out. It seems truly high quality, with sealed zippers and an attractive cut -- just what I expect from Outdoor Research. It is truly lightweight, though, and it would probably be only marginally warm enough for something like spring skiing. However, it's perfect for hiking/backpacking in reasonably temperate climates.

I am short, 5'2", 140#, but even a large would have been too long and sleeves too long for me. Had to return it and order another jacket that I hope will fit.

The sleeves and body were too short for this tall girl, so it was returned. All else seemed fine with the jacket.

Bought this for a week long back pack trip. I'm 5'8" and 125 lbs The fit was nice and the sleeves were perfect.. This jacket was ideal to wear under the pack. Nice warmth without the bulk. Did a nice job of cutting the wind. Didn't take up to much room in the pack when not being worn and looked great when I pulled it out to wear again. Felt stylish enough to wear into town for an nice meal. Haven't washed it yet ( just got home..) Really happy with this jacket

This is a nice light weight jacket that I put on when I want something a little heavier than a sweater or sweatshirt. The jacket seems durable and well made.

This jacket is perfect for in-between seasons. It's lightweight but warm. It's also a tailored fit so it's not bulky and has great lines and style. I usually wear a 4-6 and purchased the xsmall in carob. It fits perfectly with room for a layer underneath if I need it.

This jacket fits me perfectly. I'm 5'6" and 112lbs. and size X-small fits me perfect and looks nice enough to wear around town. Trekking through the woods in low 40 degree weather with a thin base layer underneath is nice and comfortable. Breathable, fairly windproof and sheds light rain.

I like the comfort of the jacket, the small was just a little bit small, prevented me in adding a layer underneath, so I have returned for a medium.

Living in South Lake Tahoe is a constant challenge to find the right clothing for the ever changing weather. This is a great jacket alone or with layers. Use it for my motorcycle, bright lava color is easy to see.

Outdoor Research products are fantastically well made and this jacket is no exception. Thanks OR for recognizing that XL is not a size 10. Tall strapping women like to get out there and get up those mountains too!! I"ve worn this jacket snowshoeing and hiking in the mountains this winter and fall and this jacket has performed spectacularly. It's breathable during exertion and dries quickly. It's windproof. Great zippers/pockets! And stylish too! I just bought a second one, I love it so much! You will not be disappointed! It's perfect in every way
