I love this hat! Most ladies hats are too big, but this one is perfect. I like a brimmed hat on sunny days but in the winter my ears froze, so I appreciate the ear flaps, and it's surprisingly warm for such a light weight. It's also much more comfortable for glasses wearers than a stocking cap. ... Read More

i have the hat in Orchid and love the pop of color for wintry days. I got the SM and it fits perfectly. My head is 21" circ. I have not worn it in the cold yet but look forward to it.

I bought this hat for an expected wet and cold trip to Alaska. This hat was perfect. The hat kept me warm and completely dry. I have a small head so the small/medium size fit me great.

This hat is warm, light weight, protects your eyes from sun glare, keeps the snow out. I just love it.

The hat is warm and really nice to wear on days you also need sunglasses (doesn't squeeze the glasses into your temples like most winter hats). The collapsible brim is nice, however, I find it kind the union of the 2 halves kind of digs into my forehead. I'm hoping as it gets broken in that will change. I originally ordered the small/med since I'm a female and it's a unisex hat (I typically wear medium in womens) the s/m was too snug to be comfortable. When I got the large it seemed huge but adjusted down nicely with the draw cord. The chin strap is too long to get a nice tight fit, but 2 minutes with the sewing machine will make that an easy fix.

This hat appeared to be exactly what I wanted but - it's incredibly thin and not warm at all.

About Outdoor Research

The concept for Outdoor Research was devised in 1981 when climber Ron Gregg’s planned ascent of Denali was cut short, ending prematurely with his frostbitten partner being airlifted off a glacier. The cause was a faulty pair of gaiters. During his descent, Gregg resolved himself to create better gear, a resolution that soon led him to build the first pair of award-winning Outdoor Research gaiters. The concept was simple: Make outdoor apparel and gear with a clear focus on reliability. In the many years since, this brand has continued to blaze new trails with cutting-edge products that now include Outdoor Research gloves, jackets, backpacks and Outdoor Research hats, all engineered to exceed expectations in the most demanding conditions on the planet.
