I ordered these as a light but tough wind and weather barrier pant for cold weather training. They fit that bill like a champ. They fit fairly true, and aren't as trim as an ice climbing soft shell. For hiking, busting brush or alders they're awesome. They're heavy enough to take abuse and not rip or tear, but they're light enough for easy maneuverability and to stretch in. I'm using them solely for training hikes and they're not too heavy for moving fast and they vent well. They fit well, but they do tend to slide down a little under a pack even with a belt, so I'd recommend some suspenders with them. I got a pair of OR suspenders and now they stay up on me. I love em!

Nice fabric and plenty of zippered pockets. I am not quite sure how the gator will work.

Love these pants. Come to think of it I love everything I purchase from Outdoor Research. I use these for skiing and find that I don't really want to take them off when I get home!

My husband has long legs, it's hard to find skipants long enough. These are perfect. The hips and thighs are a bit wide but the waist is right on.
Fabric is a bit stretchy with waterproof zippers. These will be perfect for back country skiing or warmer temps. Another STP find.

I recommend these pants to anyone who enjoys hiking in the winter. I have used them for 2 years now hiking the High Peaks in the Adirondacks and love them. They have had their fair share of glissading on my bottom and no rips, tears, etc. Even if they were to get a rip, know that Outdoor Research stands behind their products 100% even if it is your fault! I use suspenders with these pants because they tended to fall down while hiking without the suspenders. They have integrated suspender loops built into them and you can buy the suspenders from Outdoor Research.
