4.0 out of 5 stars. Size MattersVerified Buyer Reviewed by jnick from Maine on Tuesday, February 10, 2015It is a nice jacket - very light in overall weight. Just starting to get to know the layout of the chest pockets for glasses etc. However it was a bit large. I am 6' and 190 lbs. and usually wear large or x large in some things. I wanted this to be fairly trim, but found the sleeves about an inch too long and the body a little bit looser than what I wanted. I'm not sure what a medium would have been like.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Good jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by ShaunTX from Idaho on Tuesday, December 9, 2014Runs a little large. Unless you're close to 200# I would suggest the medium.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Quality Product, Great PriceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Eastern Washington on Monday, November 24, 2014This jacket is pretty much everything I need for my winter bicycle commute. It is warm, yet breathable. Bulky, yet sleek (no pesky, obstruction-causing hood). It has pockets-a-plenty, including inside pockets. And you can cinch down the wrists and midriff to keep cool air from sneaking in.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket except for the zipper!Reviewed by Anonymous from Utah on Monday, November 10, 2014I love this jacket and it was an awesome bargain! Very warm and toasty today on a 40 degree, overcast walk with my dog. Yes, it runs large, but I layer up, so that's perfect for me. Just wish it had the freezeproof, large tooth zippers. The zipper itself works fine, and it does zip open from the top or the bottom to allow for some handy ventilation. It's just VERY hard to initially engage the zipper closure to get it started. Especially when wearing gloves! I believe the finer tooth zipper will stay up better and keep me warmer, however. As the black color is sold out, I hope I can get used to it so I don't have to return this great jacket! Only downgrade is for the hard to engage zipper.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Runs bigVerified Buyer Reviewed by Skier Mom from Fort Collins on Saturday, October 25, 2014This is a nice coat that seems like it would be really warm and great for cold winter wear.
Be warned, it runs big. I ordered it for my husband who usually wears an XL. It was so big, I'm not sure if an L would have worked. He really didn't like the extra volume on top of it's already being kind of a puffy coat. It just made him look huge and not in a good way. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. great jacket, good compromise between a down parka and a down pulloverReviewed by Amadeus from Colorado on Saturday, September 20, 2014OR Virtuoso down jacket is light and well made. It is a perfect compromise between a full parka and a down pullover. I am 6 foot tall 160 pounds with long arms. Size Medium is perfect length both torso and arm. What I really like about this jacket that it fits inside of my gortex shell for extra insulation like a down pullover. But it also fits outside of the same jacket (like a parka) which is great for a short stop or lunch break in cold weather. It also works by itself as a jacket. Another great feature is that if you stuff it in it's packet it becomes a comfy camping pillow. If you want to stuff it really small then you can get a xxs stuffing sack for it to pack it to a tiny package. Yet another nice touch is the neck is made of a soft fabric not the outside shell material. In red color the down stuffing does not show through. For the price range OR created an excellent product.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice Jacket Order one size smallerVerified Buyer Reviewed by All about jackets from New Hampshire on Tuesday, September 16, 2014Got a good price. I read the reviews about the sizing so ordered one size down (normally I am size large and in some things extra large but ordered a medium in this jacket. The fit is good, just about perfect. I do not see any issues with . Plan to with quality. Plan to wear under a goretex shell in the late fall and winter. I consider this a good value.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Unacceptable sizingReviewed by Anonymous from Sydney Australia on Tuesday, August 26, 2014For an online clothing retailer, the most important aspect is surely to provide consistent & accurate sizing of the clothing or at a minimum provide commentary on how the clothing fits compared to listed sizing.
I am a 6', 80kg athletic male and always fit a large size jacket (my chest measurement is 42"). The sizing chart provided by STP on this jacket states a medium size at 40" and a large at 43"
The Virtuoso Down jacket that has an interior chest measurement of 53" and the sleeves extend over my fingertips with my arms outstretched. This measurement is larger than the listed XXL of 49"
STP were more than willing to exchange the item for a smaller size but because I live internationally (Australia), I was required to pay the return postage (approx. $50).
If I had ordered an incorrect size I would be more than willing to meet this cost but when their sizing is so inaccurate I find this an unacceptable impost.
Aside from the sizing, the jacket meets all expectations.
Of note:
- You can see the black feathers through the yellow jacket, which gives it a dirty appearance. This was mentioned in other reviews so was something I expected and hence is not a complaint, however the jacket would be significantly improved if this aspect was rectified.
- The stuffing of the jacket into it's own pocket to form a fleece covered pillow is superb
