By Mel from Milwaukee, WI on 07/08/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Fits well, Good padding Best Uses: Mountain Biking, Road Racing, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have problems with blisters on my palms on hot days in the saddle. The gloves have actual vents on the palms. I have riden in them in extremely hot weather for over 2 hours, and my hands remained dry and blister free. I was not going to buy them at first due to the gel padding and worries that it would be too thick for me to feel comfortable hanging on to my mountain bike handlebars, but this is not an issue.
Good Protective Cycling Gloves By Paprika K. from Portland, Oregon on 06/09/2008 Pros: Attractive, Good Ventilation, Leather-free, Tough, Well Made Best Uses: Commuting, Long Rides, Mountain Biking, Road Biking Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend I needed another pair of full-finger gloves for hairy commutes and mountain-biking, so I took a chance on these.
First, they're well-made and fit well. They're almost all black (yay). I like the fact that the glove doesn't come up my arm any higher than my first "bracelet" on my wrist. This allows me to fully extend my wrist (as I do when holding handlebars) without fabric digging in. Fit-wise, I have huge hands with long fingers (for a woman), so the only thing I'd change is to lengthen the fingers. But -- all gloves fit me this way.
Second, I feel safer in them. I know if I crash, NOTHING is ripping through these (short of glass and splinters). The padding is a honeycomb-like gel, and though it creates a weird sensation on my palms, my hands are less fatigued after a long ride.
