These pants are thick, heavy and durable, with nice pockets. They would be better suited for snow pants (they have a gaitor). Too heavy for rain wear (too bad, cause I like the cargo pocket for pens and compass). I'd recommend these for snow wear.

I like how the inner lining tucks into my boots and the outer shell covers my boots, making it difficult for snow to creep into my boots. I ordered my pair big enough to wear over my jeans so I can be more comfortable and warm.
