I have bought several pairs By Avid day-hiker from New Mexico on 12/29/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I walk my dog daily on trails that are often steep, rocky, muddy, and with loose footing. I have had several pairs of these boots by now, and they are always comfortable right out of the box. The first pair wore out their stitching after many many miles. The second ones apparently melted their stitching after I stomped out a fire some lost teenagers had lit for overnight warmth -- we do search-and-rescue. My next pair is still going strong, but I ordered this last, extra pair for reserve because the price was so good.
Great boots on first wear By first time hiker from missouri on 12/23/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wore these boots out of the box on a 4 day trek through the Andes to Machu Picchu. They were lightweight and comfortable. Feet stayed dry through the rain and walking through puddles and mud. Comfortable in rocky terrain. Overall, great purchase.
By Hiking Girl from Dixie on 11/17/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I would have loved to keep them, but they were too big. I didn't heed the advice to get a smaller pair since I like "wiggle room" for my toes, and I planned to wear thick socks. Alas, these were just too big and I had to return them. My next choice in sizing was not available, so I chose another brand.
