They felt comfortable when I put my foot in the base, however, when I went to zip up the boot, there was no way this was going to happen - the ankle/lower leg portion of the boot was way too narrow by inches. I work out/ski/etc and have large calves anyway but I think you would have to have to have very skinny lower calves/ankles to get these things zipped up.

very well, but the ankle/shaft was WAY too narrow-I don't have this issue ever, so I was surprised, Unless you have very skinny ankles, don't order these boots!!!!
