Your toes tend to ride up and over the toe cap, pushing into and through the yarn. Previous designs had a larger toe cap that constrained and protected the toes.

They seem to require a bit of work to pull them on. They also didn't seem at all stable to walk around in (i.e. mushy!). I returned mine.
