By K from millburn. nj on 10/20/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a snug fitting jacket. You will not be putting on a thick layer underneath. The sleeves are a little long, but not terribly so. It seems that longer sleeve is the norm now. Nice movement. I am wearing in cooler weather but have a hard time believing it will keep me warm on a true winter day (but maybe I will be surprised). It is perfect for me- I have a big warm jacket but wanted a jacket that was warm but not bulky that I can wear for most of the time (it really does not get too cold here).
Great, except for the pit vents By pcs from Ellensburg, WA on 04/19/2009 Pros: Stylish, Warm, Windproof Cons: Uncomfortable pit vents Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like this jacket - the cut is fabulous, and I like the fabric. I got the black, and actually kind of like the asymmetric white stitching that one other reviewer disliked. But, others seemed happy with the pit vents, and I'm sure not. While the rest of the jacket fits great, the zippers in the pit vents bow in and press right into my arm pits. I can't say that it's a pleasant feeling. Might just be me, though - I don't own anything else with pit vents, partly because the couple items I have tried on have bugged me in the same way. Also, I did wish that it had a little more insulation; it seems a little too warm to be a lightweight jacket, and not warm enough for when it's really cold.
Unusual fabric & stitching By PA day hiker from Pittsburgh, PA on 03/09/2009 Pros: Warm, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this coat because it was mid-weight and wind/water resistant and had a hood. Mountain Hardware gear is always good, so that was also a plus.
However, when it arrived I really didn't like the fabric at all. It had a rough feel that I can only describe as retro 1970's. I got a black jacket and it has this odd asymmetric white stitching scrolled across the chest. At first I thought it was a defect, but I think it's intentional. I returned the jacket because I really didn't like the look. Definitely not what I had expected.
