However, be warned: until it has been laundered once, it sheds an incredible amount of lint (not exactly "pilling"), usually onto whatever shirt you are wearing under it, to the point of affecting the shirt's color. Once the sweater is back from the laundry, the problem's gone...so don't give up too early!
