I returned for next size down (rare for me) and they fit perfectly, as you would expect well-cut jeans to do. May be OK for those who want loose fit, or are at upper end of a given size, but not for hip-riding jeans. How weird is that: a European brand that's roomy?

But be aware, they are NOT jeans! They are a lighter weight cotton twill in jeans styling. Very comfortable, especially for summer. So my only complaint is truth in advertising - the description is a bit misleading.
