almost perfect, but tight under arms By Extra731 from Atlanta, GA on 11/03/2009 Pros: Flattering, Functional hood, Lightweight, Lots of pockets, Stylish Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I usually wear a 4 and tried both the 34 and the 36. The 36 had plenty of room for layering a sweater or fleece under it EXCEPT under the arms. I liked almost everything about this jacket, and it would have gotten five stars except for the armpit problem. Tons of pockets, a functional hood, the styling was relatively flattering for this type of jacket, it's lightweight, the color was just what I wanted. Haglofs even puts the flap over the zipper on the left so that a right-handed person can zip and unzip the jacket easily (unlike most American manufacturers, for some reason). I really, really wanted to keep it, BUT it's too tight under the arms. I don't have bulky shoulders or arms, as far as I know. For about five minutes I even thought "well, maybe I'll just keep the pit zips open," because it was comfortable that way. That's not I want to do all winter, though. If you have very tiny shoulders and arms or don't plan to layer anything but a thin base layer under it (or if you want to keep the pits unzipped), maybe this jacket will be perfect for you.
By winterXX from SF, CA on 12/19/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I really wanted to like this jacket since it had everything on my check-list -- lots of pockets, waterproof, long, lightweight, red colored -- but the armholes were too small! I tried even going 4 sizes up and had to return all of them in the end. I wanted an all-season jacket but with the armholes so small, you can't layer properly for winter and still be comfortable without wearing very tightly fitting shirts. If you don't mind that one problem, it really is a very well made jacket.
By Jadele from Chicago, IL on 12/15/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Cons: Expensive for a shell, It's only a shell Best Uses: Casual Wear, Downhill Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very nice shape and style, good fit. Only surprise was the thin material - it is only a shell, which for the price was little disappointing given you'll need to buy an extra layer to wear underneath for warmth. Overall it's a nice-looking waterproof jacket.
