They're also perfect for kayaking. Because the heel is not open I can wear my orthotics in them. I had a slightly different model of these sandals (which I am replacing with these) which I wore out in about 2 1/2 years. This current model doesn't have as many sandal openings as my others, so I hope I like them as well.
