Easily holds laptop (sometimes two) and also books. Very durable material, it feels like it could last forever. Quick access laptop pouch is great. A downside I think to messenger bags in general compared to backpacks is that when heavy, they are more tiring to carry for distances. This really only bothers me on occasion because I rarely walk far enough for it to be a problem.
