I was looking for something that wasn't too heavy but blocked the wind well. This jacket does that. I am a small women - 5'3" and got a medium because of the stated trim fit. I wanted to be able to wear a sweater under it if I wanted. The medium allows that only the sleeves are about 3" too long, but I just fold them under.
Overall a good coat for the fall.
