I expected it to be darker like the other marcasite jewellery I have, but it looks more like hematite instead.

Heavy weight piece unlike most cheap stuff sold nowadays. Beautiful shine to it. Looks more silvery when the light catches it than most marcasite pieces. Wouldn't recommend for lighter or tightly woven fine fabrics because of its weight and heavier pin.

Judith Jack makes the best marcasite anywhere and styles that make you beleive it really is from the 20's....creat craftsmanship, beautiful styles. I have several of thesde broachs and love Sierra for making them available at such great prices!
