Was starting to love'm but then... HOLE! By hike1, hike2, hikehikehike from NYC on 09/11/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction Cons: Not Durable/ Wears Easily Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Very little break-in required. I was happy for 2 dayhikes, but the 3rd time I took these out-- for a week-long trip-- the seam betw the nubuck & rubber guard on the instep of my left foot developed a hole big enough to insert my index finger. Very disappointing. Glad it didn't rain since i didn't bring backup boots.
By JC from California on 08/05/2009 Cons: Not Durable/ Wears Easily, Too Stiff/Not Flexible Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I believe that these were made when La Sportiva was owned by North Face and they shipped all production of their shoes to China. For a boot that is considered for moderate to heavy loads, the materials are flexible and cheap. The foam ankle insert is synthetic piece of nothingness with ample room for water to seep into that seam. I returned mine upon arrival. [...]get something more durable and better constructed.
