By lovesagreatdeal from Indiana on 10/26/2009 Cons: Fabric Pills, Poor Fit Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The fabric was not acceptable and the shirt design was pedestrian.
Good but not jungle-ready By mosquito-prone from brooklyn, ny on 09/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable Cons: Does not wick, Fabric Pills Best Uses: Casual Wear, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shirt does its job of keeping the insects away. I know this because every time I took off the shirt to cool off for a few minutes, my arms got bitten by mosquitoes.
However, once you start sweating (say, maybe because you're hiking in the jungle), the shirt gets damp and stays damp. It might not be such a hassle if you can dry off the shirt in an air-conditioned room or something, but if you're just camping someplace humid, this shirt won't dry quickly. It also appeared to pill/fuzz, but the fuzz went away after washing.
Also, this shirt isn't exactly the height of fashion, but it's okay. The XS fit me (5'4", 120 lbs). Arm length was great, though the collar seemed a smidge small and the body a bit on the boxy side.
Not my favorite of ExOfficio fabrics By MJ lightweight nature adventurer from Southern California on 07/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Used the shirt in Yellowstone. Never went out without it. Good basic white shirt style, insect part works well, washed and dry easy. The cotton in this fabric looks to fray and pill a bit but washed up well and pilling went away. Not so good for backpacking but good if you are looking for a none technical basic shirt with insect protection. Fit true to size, not too blousey or too trim, just right.
