Sometimes it is clumsy to get off your shoulders, but it is a packpack. The paisly lining is pretty.

I got the caramel color and it is a beautiful warm shade that goes with everything. I love the two big compartments and the small pockets--makes it much easier to find your stuff. I have two other backpack type bags and I am constantly having to pour everything out in order to find my stuff. The only thing I don't like about the bag is the middle zip compartment, which seems a little flimsy.
