The skirt portion is fuller than it appears in the picture, not flattering to the hips at all. It would be a good choice if you are very slim.

I read previous reviews stating the skirt of the coat flared out and decided to order it regardless. Below the waist of the coat, it really does flare out with ruffled layers like a skirt (the picture online does not show this at all). It's a beautiful coat, but I was looking for a more classic cut. This is a bit too much for me!
