I have been a faithful Marmot user for over 6 years, and I had to go two sizes up for the jacket not to constrict. I will admit that I normally buy items with the athletic cut, so that may be to blame.
I use it as a zipin to my tamarack shell. They go great together. The fleece is super warm, so I recommend figuring out your size beforehand, and then buying it online.
