It kept me dry for a day in the rain - not much does that. It's very well made and designed. At first I didn't like the snap-on hood, but it turned out to work well and is very easily attached/detached.

While you'd expect it to come with an inside liner (as it does when sold in stores) it does not. I returned this coat for a Browning hunting jacket.
