By mudlarke from cape cod, mass on 02/17/2010 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable, Great Traction, No Break-in Best Uses: Everyday, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational, Environmentalist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This Keen shoe is not as clunky, nor as wide in the toe as some are. But it is still made by Keen, so is as comfortable as one would expect. The look of the shoe is fabulous. I think the arch may be a bit lower than other Keens. I purchased an insole to heighten the arch in mine. The laces are a bit annoying, due to being just "ordinary" push-through-the-hole laces, and not wrap-around eyelets, but this probably adds to the shoe's more street savy appearance. I think it would be fine for light hiking though.
By Wenzilla from Colorado Springs, CO on 01/21/2010 Pros: Good Arch Support, Sturdy/Durable Cons: Too Stiff/Not Flexible, Uncomfortable Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: While these boots are very stylish and versatile they don't feel as immediately comfortable when you slip them on as other Keen shoes. The ankle area is a bit restrictive and rubs around the area. I ended up unlacing the boots by one to give a little more movement. Since I've done that the boots are more comfortable and I've worn them more often. I think they just need a solid couple of wears to them to break them in to the point where they're a similar feel to most other Keens. For the price I paid, they're worth a little bit of a break in period.
Cute, functional & very good value By Rufusmagufus from Colfax, CA on 01/19/2010 Pros: Comfortable, No Break-in, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like these boots a lot. They are light weight, but sturdy. The only negative I see is that a different lacing system would be more functional; the lacing holes on the shoes pierce the shoe and allow water to enter during very wet conditions and the cotton-type laces soak up water. The lacing is also fairly difficult to adjust.
