Love the Cold, love to Ski! By skier from Washington State on 09/12/2009 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket to go under my bigger gortex ski jacket when really cold. I like the fit, very comfortable. I'm sure I will be wearing this jacket a lot in fall. It's not real heavy but will block the wind and do what I want. Around the neck it has padding so when the zipper is all the way up it wont dig into your chin. This is important when cold! I would recommend this jacket.
Love this jacket more than the Columbia By Enjoys the Outdoors in Colorado from Ft Collins, CO on 09/02/2009 Pros: Adjustable wrists, Breathable, Doesn't pucker, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Warm, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Cons: No arm pocket, No waist cinch, White chin guard Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking, Wearing around town Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wasn't too sure about this jacket since there were no reviews on it. So I ordered it and the Columbia Crystal Crest Sportsware Soft Shell that had lots of reviews. I ended up returning the Columbia! This jacket had almost everything the Columbia had, and it does not pucker when bent or sitting. The seams are not taped, which allows freer movement. And from past experience you do not need taped seems for most activities and weather. The color is a nice milk chocolate brown. The chin guard is white, which will probably show dirt over time, but is a small price to pay for a [$] softshell! The jacket, pockets, and chin guard are lined with a very soft microfleece-like material.I am 5'7" and the length of the jacket is perfect. The sleeves have an adjustment at the cuff, so even if they are too long, they can be tightened to fit. For me they were perfect. There is no waist cinch for skiing, but the jacket is not baggy. So it still looks nice and is functional for everything else.
