There is something about the wide waistband and the thin belt that work wonders - I've got a classic apple shape - narrow hips, wide waist, and a belly that is none too flat, and this skirt makes me look curvy and skims all my bulges. The fabric is thick and sturdy but has plenty of drape, and the skirt is nicely lined. The one thing I don't totally love is the black denim, but it doesn't draw attention to itself and it does work equally well for casual wear and for work.
