There was an extra pad that dug right into the shoulder blades, and the padding was not foam but some crunchy cheap organic stuff.

I especially like the rain fly. However, it is a top loading pack which makes it difficult to get to anything packed on the bottom. A two way zipper down the front of this pack would make it perfect.
